Distilled at Bunnahabhain distillery, on the isle of Islay, Staoisha is what they call their peated spirit that is released to the cask market. This 7 year old example has been bottled by independent bottler, Brave New Spirits, as part of their Rebels - The Guerilla Casks range.
Rebels showcases single cask, single malts in interesting cask maturations and finishes. This particular Staoisha release has been exclusively matured for 7 years in a first-fill Ecuadorian Rum barrel.
A very interesting cask combo indeed, peated, salty staoisha spirit paired with sweet rum... and of course, natural colour, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength.
